Feb 12,2022 Topmax Furniture
Year 2020 has a tough start mainly due to the pandemic. Many furniture expos were either cancelled or postponed. However, furniture designers did not stop their pursuit of innovation and visualize their inspiration to contribute a visual feast of 2020 GUANGZHOU HOME EXPO.
With a scale of nearly 300,000 square meters and 1,607 exhibitors, the Fair has many brands and manufacturers bringing us many of the latest products. In particular, some of the "co-branded" works of science and art have left a deep impression to the audience.
Through the furniture, we can discovery of the beauty of ordinary life. ZIINLIFE, a cultural and creative household brands, brings us surprise in the expo. The exhibition this time presented by it, titled "Triumph of Geometry," is about the latest 2020 release.
Art and life are always discussed side by side, and the abstract formal science of mathematics always seems detached from our lives. But the new items in this expo introduce the concept of "mathematics" into the furniture design, and interprets the understanding and attitude towards life in the collision between art and science.
Euclid coffee table
Euclid was a famous ancient Greek mathematician and the author of The Original Geometry. Euclid Coffee Table is divided into three forms which is inspired by perspective, conic and spherical geometry in his works.
Two-dimensional temper glass combines with three—dimensional ash solid wood explains Euclid's understanding of plane geometry and solid geometry in the Original Geometry. Designer uses the minimalist geometry to embody a sculptural quality and a sense of spatial intrigue. Solid wood cone, ball and ring structure adopt the form of landing, hollow and floating respectively, and convey three kinds of static shape meaning through the projected light and shadow and the special texture of glass. The solid wood and the transparent glass reflect the harmonious of virtual and real space.
Descartes Chair
Descartes, a French philosopher, mathematician and physicist known by "I think, therefore I am", invented the basic tool coordinate system of modern mathematics in 1637 and formulated the geometric coordinate system. In terms of rectangular coordinates, geometric shapes can be expressed explicitly by algebraic formulas. ZIINLIFE introduces the concept of "Descartes coordinate system" into the furniture design, and with help of modern technology and concept, the backrest and legs of the chair are designed according to horizontal and vertical coordinates and forms the sitting surface in the intersection, which has a strong sense of geometry and contemporaneity.
Good design always bring fresh new ways of thinking.
